Restoring Our Promise to Alaska’s Public Servants

Our educators, first responders, and other public servants deserve secure retirements, and that's why I fully support restoring a defined benefits pension program.

Senate Bill 88 is a measure designed to bring back a pension system that would provide much-needed stability to our state workers. While SB88 successfully passed the Senate, my opponent joined hands with some of the most far-right Alaska Republicans and voted against the bill.

His vote signals a clear disregard for the security and welfare of teachers, police officers, and other vital state employees—individuals who deserve assurance and stability after years of dedicated public service.

Sen. Kaufman and his allies in the Alaska House of Representatives are slowly strangling SB88 to ensure it is not fairly considered before the legislature adjourns and incumbents facing re-election hit the campaign trail—casting aside their responsibilities to improve the benefits our public safety professionals and teachers deserve.

This isn’t leadership. It’s wrong and pure cowardice.

On the other hand, with me, you have a candidate you can trust. I stand as a staunch advocate for our public servants and understand the importance of providing stability and support for those who dedicate their lives to serving our communities.

I invite you to join me in this fight for our public servants, our communities, and the Alaska we all believe in.
